Intern Responsibilities
As an intern, your tasks will include:
- Assisting in daily media monitoring and creating news summaries.
- Scanning online news for updates related to the IAEA.
- Researching and writing content for press releases and news features.
- Transcribing press conferences and interviews.
- Supporting the media team during key IAEA events.
- Helping organize outreach programs like the UN Shadowing Programme.
- Collecting and analyzing media coverage data.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be at least 20 years old.
- Have completed at least three years of university education in journalism, international relations, or a related field.
- Apply within one year of earning their degree (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate).
- Have strong English skills (other UN languages are a plus).
- Not have participated in an IAEA internship before.
- Submit two signed recommendation letters.
Skills and Experience Required
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF.
- Understanding of global issues like nuclear energy, climate change, or non-proliferation is beneficial.
- Experience in writing and editing press releases is a plus.
