Job Responsibilities
1. Social Media and Digital Content Creation
- Manage and create content for CSUMB’s official social media accounts.
- Write, edit, and proofread content for social media and digital marketing campaigns.
- Create, curate, and schedule engaging posts with photos, videos, and graphics.
- Track trends and analyze audience engagement to improve social media strategies.
- Oversee a team of student content creators.
2. Social Media Strategy and Evaluation
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of social media campaigns.
- Use market research data to enhance social media engagement.
- Identify key audience groups and tailor content accordingly.
- Collaborate with different departments to develop and publish university content.
3. Otter Athletics Social Media Management
- Lead social media efforts for CSUMB’s intercollegiate athletics programs.
- Guide student workers in creating sports-related content.
- Advise athletes and coaches on social media strategies.
4. Digital Project Management
- Track and coordinate complex marketing projects.
- Monitor budgets, deadlines, and content approvals.
- Maintain records and analyze campaign performance reports.
5. Email Marketing and Communication
- Manage email marketing campaigns and database lists.
- Write newsletters and event-related content.
- Work with print and digital advertising platforms.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in social media management, marketing, or digital communications.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in social media tools, including scheduling and analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of copyright laws, media relations, and digital advertising.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using social media management systems (e.g., Sprout Social).
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Knowledge of video editing software (e.g., CapCut).
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
- Strong project management and content planning skills.
